What should we ask the experts?
We're inviting specialists to answer, on camera, the questions our investigations keep running into. Each guest gets the same five questions:
- What is the strongest evidence?
- What does that evidence fail to establish?
- What is the strongest competing explanation?
- What would change your mind?
- What could our community investigate next?
Then we ask the follow-ups, and we want yours among them.
Topics we're asking about
- Ancient text The Anunnaki and the Mesopotamian creation tablets. What the poems say, what Babylonian astronomy says about Nibiru, and where the modern alien story came from. Read our note.
- Evidence Human origins. Fossils, ancient DNA, and what marks on ancient bones can and can't tell us. Read our note.
- Interpretation The historical Jesus. What Tacitus, Josephus and Paul establish, and the strongest case against. Read our note.
What makes a good question
- Specific: "In Atrahasis, who does the digging, and does any text say it's mining?" works better than "Were the Anunnaki real?"
- Checkable: name the text, fossil, verse or paper you mean, if you can.
- Fair to both sides: objections to our own conclusions are especially welcome.
How to send one
Send your question with the form ↗ (Google Form, opens in a new tab). Start your message with "OQ:" so we know it's for The Open Question. Add the topic, and a source if you have one. If you give an email address, you'll get a receipt with a tracking ID, and another email when we reach a decision.
What happens next
- We read every submission. Recurring and well-sourced questions go on the shortlist.
- Votes can choose which questions we ask, but only evidence decides the answers. We won't edit a guest's answer to fit our view.
- If a question or a guest's answer changes our research, we log the change, with the reason, in You changed our investigation.
- If we use your question on air, we credit you only if you say yes on the form. Otherwise it’s listed as “Anonymous.”
Your privacy
Submissions go to a private spreadsheet that only the Discover Truth team can see. Sending a question doesn't sign you up for email. If you want updates, join the newsletter separately. You can unsubscribe at any time.
