Walk one thread before the rest

The exhibition is films and field notes, not prophecy. This page is the order. Each step is a page that already exists. Nothing here enrolls you.

01 · What SoE is

One sentence, already on the site

Society of Explorers explores what happens when intelligence becomes infrastructure — how machines use energy, make decisions, coordinate, and participate in economic life.

That sentence is the About page. It is the wider curiosity, not a result and not a new mission. The smaller question is next. The work is independent inquiry: not a startup, token, DAO, consultancy, prophecy, or IBM affiliate.

Next: the question →

02 · Why it matters

How much can we safely decide locally?

Shared limits — electricity, interconnect, capacity. What can each decide alone, and when must everyone coordinate? When intelligent systems act near the edge, which decisions stay local, and which need a wider veto?

Open question Novelty unestablished No field trial

The question is published. It is not a result, and contributions are not open yet. The threads under it — power, a governor, a bill, watts — are what the exhibition is actually walking.

03 · What to look at first

Store still needs the wire

Series · What It Runs On. Live on the channel. Store buffers under pressure. It does not abolish the wire.

Watch on YouTube · On the films page

The idea under the short: Power as a Primitive. Energy is not backdrop. It is a first-class input — priced, constrained, physically real.

04 · Note, then essay

The same sentence, claim-labeled

The companion note does not invent megawatts, ELCC percentages, ISO statistics, FERC outcomes, or tariffs. It names the cut: a buffer is not a disappearing act for the wire.

Store still needs the wire

The longer draft, still claim-labeled: Power as a Primitive — why energy sits under intelligence. A machine can show a wallet on a screen. Watts still come from a physical system.

Next: the counterquestion →

05 · What would make this wrong

The wire stays. The account stays open.

Wrong if Store is read as “grid optional forever.” Wrong if storage is dismissed as never useful. The cut is that a buffer does not abolish the wire. How much of a large-load story can honestly rest on on-site storage stays open.

Adjacent pressure, already written: flexibility is not free capacity. A shaped draw can change the question. It does not mint free firm capacity.

The other open sentence on this bench: a wallet is not the account the meter thinks is buying. Who that account names, when a machine pays, stays open. That page is not a legal opinion. And no watts → no agency — if a machine can sustain the agency in question with no energy path at all, that is the correction. Not a lab result.

06 · What you can do

Argue it in public, or keep reading

Meridian research intake stays closed. For the origins inquiry, Discover Truth has separate, optional choices to send a source or request field notes by email. Guides and free samples are also available. No membership is being sold.

The public acts are on Discuss: read the note, watch the short, and take the question to the exhibition’s public account, @SoEExplorers. A prompt is there. The account’s bio and pin are not changed from this page.

The other three threads on the bench — the governor, the electric bill, agency that depends on watts — are on what is being explored now.

Honest frame. Independent inquiry · curiosity over prophecy · no token or membership sale. Meridian intake closed; Discover Truth email and products are optional.
