No watts → no agency
Short on the channel: No watts → no agency.
established hypothesis
No watts → no agency. That line is already on the exhibition. This page is the companion to the short with that title. It does not add a measurement, a protocol, or a product.
Already said
established The Power essay calls the line a physical truism restated for machine-economy talk, not a lab result. The stack puts the same cut on the energy layer: no watts = no agency. The Power as a Primitive page states the hypothesis beside it: an agent that can “decide” and “pay” but cannot obtain power cannot sustain physical agency. This note repeats those sentences. It does not run a trial.
Not personhood
hypothesis The wider question — whether a non-human agent could use some economic primitives without moral or legal personhood — stays where the Power essay left it. This page does not upgrade the binding line into “machines are persons,” and it does not claim a machine has obtained power.
What would make this wrong
- Wrong if the line is read as a lab result, a wattage, or a new finding. None are claimed. The essay already marks it established as a restatement, not an experiment.
- Wrong if “no agency” is read as moral or legal personhood, or as the denial of personhood being settled here. The Power essay forbids that upgrade.
- Wrong if this page is read as a product, a token, a forecast, or an open intake.
Not a forecast. Not a product. Curiosity over prophecy. Intake is not open. This note invents no megawatts, no tariff, and no protocol.
Where criticism belongs
If “no watts” is the wrong cut — if a machine can sustain the agency in question with no energy path at all — that is the correction. Pushback preferred over applause. There is no comment box, membership, or mailing list on this note. Research intake is not open.
